- Human IgM mu Antibody
- Cross-Reactivity (Details)
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum, Human IgM and Human Serum. No reaction was observed against other human heavy or light chain proteins.
- Characteristics
- Anti-Human IgA Antibody generated in goat detects immunoglobulin A (alpha chain) from human. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is an antibody that plays a critical role in mucosal immunity. IgA has two subclasses (IgA1 and IgA2) and can exist in a dimeric form called secretory IgA (sIgA). Secondary Antibodies are available in a variety of formats and conjugate types. When choosing a secondary antibody product, consideration must be given to species and immunoglobulin specificity, conjugate type, fragment and chain specificity, level of cross-reactivity, and host-species source and fragment composition.
- Purification
- Anti-Human IgM mu heavy chain was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Human IgM coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities.

- Background
- Immunoglobulin M is the largest antibody isotype and the first to be secreted against an initial exposure to antigen. IgM is predominantly produced in the spleen. Formed from covalently linking 5 immunoglobulins together. Anti-Human IgM mu chain antibody is ideal for investigators in Immunology, Microbiology, and Cell Biology.
