Cross-Reactivity (Details): Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-biotin, anti-Goat Serum, Chicken IgM and Chicken Serum.  No reaction was observed against other chicken heavy or light chain proteins.

Characteristics: Anti-Chicken IgG Biotin Antibody generated in goat detects chicken IgY.

Purification: This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Chicken IgM coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities.

Application Notes: Application Note: Anti-Chicken IgM Biotin Conjugated Antibody has been tested by ELISA. This product has been assayed against 1.0 μg of Chicken IgM in a standard capture ELISA using Peroxidase Conjugated Streptavidin #S000-03 and ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:10,000 to 1:40,000 is suggested for this product. Background: Immunoglobulin M is the largest antibody isotype and the first to be secreted against an initial exposure to antigen. IgM is predominantly produced in the spleen. Formed from covalently linking 5 immunoglobulins together, the approximate molecular weight of IgM is 900 kDa and possesses 10 binding sites (though due to the size of most antigens, not all sites are capable of binding at once).
