- Rockland
- Purpose
- MIP-3ß Human Recombinant Protein
- Purification
- Recombinant protein corresponds to amino acids 22 to 98 of mature human MIP-3ß. Purity is greater than 98% as determined by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE and by RP- HPLC, against known standard.
- Purity
- 98,00%
- Endotoxin Level
- Measured by LAL is < 0.01 ng/μg or < 0.1 EU/μg protein.
- Biological Activity Comment
- Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 3ß is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The activity is calculated by the ability to chemoattract human T cells using a concentration of 7 - 40 ng/ml.

- Storage Comment
- Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Maintain sterility. This product DOES NOT contain preservative. DO NOT VORTEX. We recommend adding a carrier protein such as HSA or BSA to 0.1% (i.e. 1.0 mg/mL) . For best results aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or colder. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge vial before each opening to dislodge contents from the cap and to clarify if contents are not clear after standing at room temperature.

Background: The MIP-3ß (also known as SCYA19) member of the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family may play a role not only in inflammatory and immunological responses, but also in normal lymphocyte recirculation and homing. May play an important role in trafficking of T-cells in thymus, and T-cell and B-cell migration to secondary lymphoid organs. It is secreted. It specifically binds to chemokine receptor CCR7. MIP3ß is expressed at high levels in the lymph nodes, thymus and appendix, and at intermediate levels seen in colon and trachea, while low levels found in spleen, small intestine, lung, kidney and stomach. Recombinant Human MIP-3b produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 77 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 8809 Daltons. The recombinant protein shows potent chemotactic activity for T-cells and B-cells but not for granulocytes and monocytes.
