- Background
- VEGFC, also known as vascular endothelial growth factor C, is a member of the VEGF family. This growth factors play key roles in the physiology and pathology of many aspects of the cardiovascular system including hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and vascular permeability. Traces of VEGFC are also detected in brain, liver, thymus, skeletal muscles, spleen, prostate, testis and colon. Unlike other VEGF family members, VEGFC expression is not regulated by hypoxia. Recombinant human VEGFC, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
