    Background
C10orf54, also known as Platelet receptor Gi24, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. As a transmembrane molecule, this protein is expressed in bone on embryonic stem cells (ESCs), and on tumor cell surface. Thus, C10orf54 supports the differentiation of ESC and ehhances BMP4 induced signaling in ESC, but is also down regulated following BMP4 exposure. Recombinant human C10orf54, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
