- Background
- DCTN6 contains an RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) motif in the N-terminal region, which confers adhesive properties to macromolecular proteins like fibronectin. It shares a high degree of sequence similarity with the mouse homolog, which has been suggested to play a role in mitochondrial biogenesis. The exact biological function of this gene is not known. Recombinant human DCTN6 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
