- Application Notes
- Thioredoxin 2 protein has been used in SDS PAGE and may be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.
- Assay Procedure

- Prepare a 1 mL reaction cocktail in a suitable container: The final concentrations are 1 mM Tris, 61 mM sodium phosphate, 1 mM DTT, 0.1 % (w/v) insulin, 1 mM EDTA.
2. Add 4 µg of recombinant thioredoxin-2 into reaction cocktail and mix immediately.
3. Incubate at 25 °C for 20 minutes.
4. Record the increase in A650 nm for 15 minutes.

Thioredoxin(Trx) is a low molecular weight redox protein. Trx contains a redox active disulfide/dithiol group within the conserved Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys active site. The Thioredoxin 2 may play important roles in the regulation of the mitochondrial membrane potential and in protection against oxidant-induced apoptosis. Recombinant Thioredoxin 2 was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
