- Background
- The G143-850 antibody recognizes vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) by western blotting. VEGF is a homodimeric heavily glycosylated protein. Human VEGF occurs in several molecular variants which arise by alternative splicing of the mRNA. Splice forms of VEGF differ in biological properties such as the receptor types which they recognize. Various forms of VEGF can be detected at MW 18-25 kDa in SDS-PAGE.
