- Background
- The gadE(Transcriptional regulator gadE) regulates the expression of several genes involved in acid resistance. GadE is required for the expression of gadA and gadBC, among others, regardless of media or growth conditions. gadE binds directly to the 20 bp GAD box found in the control regions of both loci. The gadE could be involved in the regulation of the genes coding for the type III secretion system in enterohaemorragic strains. The gadE could be induced by evgA via the induction of ydeO. The gadE contains 1 HTH luxR-type DNA-binding domain.
