  • Application Notes

    Immunohistochemistry Dilution: 1:500 - 1:2,500

Application Note: This purified antibody has been tested in western blotting and suitable for ELISA. By western blot a band approximately 15 kDa in size corresponding to native human IL-32α protein is expected in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.

    Western Blot Dilution: 1:1,000 - 1:5,000

    ELISA Dilution: 1:10,000 - 1:50,000

    Other: User Optimized

    Background
Background: IL-32A (also known as Natural killer cells protein 4, Tumor necrosis factor alpha-inducing factor, IL32α, Interleukin-32 and IL-32 isoform 4) is a member of the cytokine family. IL-32a is a secreted protein selectively expressed in lymphocytes and plays a role in innate and adaptive immune responses. The protein contains a tyrosine sulfation site, 3 potential N-myristoylation sites, multiple putative phosphorylation sites, and an RGD cell-attachment sequence. Expression of this protein is increased after the activation of T-cells by mitogens or the activation of NK cells by IL-2. This protein induces the production of TNFα and IL-8. It induces typical cytokine pathways of NF-kB and p38 MAPK. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
