- Background
- UBA6 (also knownm as FLJ10808) is an E1 enzyme that initiates the activation and conjugation of ubiquitin-like proteins. Modification of proteins with ubiquitin or ubiquitin-like proteins control many signaling networks and requires a ubiquitin-activating enzyme (E1), a ubiquitin conjugating enzyme (E2), and a ubiquitin protein ligase (E3). There are four different isoforms.Synonyms: FLJ10808, MOP-4, Monocyte protein 4, UBE1L2, Ubiquitin-activating enzyme 6, Ubiquitin-activating enzyme E1-like protein 2, Ubiquitin-like modifier-activating enzyme 6
