- Background
- Background: ZCCHC8 is a zinc-finger protein that bears a zinc-binding motif composed of a CX2CX4HX4C sequence (where X can be any amino acid). ZCCHC8 also bears a PSP domain, a proline rich domain found in numerous splicesome associated proteins. ZCCHC8 has been identified as a component of the splicesome C complex and as a substrate of glycogen synthase kinase-3. It is suggested to play a role in the processing and metabolism of RNA.
