- Background
- Background: ARID4B (AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 4B) is also known as RbBP1L1 (retinoblastoma binding protein 1-like 1) and is a retinoblastoma binding protein and member of the AT-rich interaction domain (ARID) family of proteins. In addition to the ARID DNA binding domain, ARID4B also contains a chromo domain and a TUDOR domain, indicating a function in chromatin organization and protein-protein interactions with methylated protein substrates. As a subunit of the SIN3A transcriptional co-repressor, ARID4B is implicated to be involved in chromatin remodeling and epigenetic modifications. ARID4B may play a role in the pathogenesis of breast cancer and other malignancies.
