- Background
- Background: Phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase beta (PI4KB) phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol (PI) in the first committed step in the production of the second messenger inositol-1,4,5,-trisphosphate (PIP). PI4KB may regulate Golgi disintegration/reorganization during mitosis, possibly via its phosphorylation, and may be involved in Golgi-to-plasma membrane trafficking [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q9UBF8].
