- Background
- Background: CLIP-115 (cytoplasmic linker protein 115) was found to associate with both microtubules and an organelle called the dendritic lamellar body. The CLIP-115 protein is encoded by the CLIP2 gene which is hemizygously deleted in Williams syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder caused by the deletion of contiguous genes at 7q11.23 [taken from NCBI Entrez Gene (Gene ID: 7461)].
