    Background
Background: Zinc-finger protein 644 (ZNF644) belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and contains seven C2H2-type zinc-fingers. The function of ZNF579 has not been characterized but may play a role as a transcription factor during eye development. Defects in ZFN644 have been associated with myopia.
