- Background
- Background: Nuclear Receptor Coactivator 2 (NCOA2) is a member of the p160 family of nuclear receptor coactivators that also includes steroid receptor coactivator-1 (SRC-1) and p300/CBP-interacting protein (p/CIP). As Coactivators, this group of proteins helps recruit acetyltransferases and methyltransferases such as p300/CBP and CARM1 to facilitate chromatin remodeling and transcription factor recruitment, and to enhance gene expression. NCOA2 has been demonstrated to be important for the control of energy balance between white and brown adipose tissue.
