    Background
Synonyms: Background:Phosphorylates psicosamines and ribulosamines, but not fructosamines, on the third carbon of the sugar moiety. Protein-bound psicosamine 3-phosphates and ribulosamine 3-phosphates are unstable and decompose under physiological conditions. Thus phosphorylation leads to deglycation.
