- Background
- The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. The encoded protein is a catalytic subunit of cAMP (cyclic AMP)-dependent protein kinase, which mediates signalling though cAMP. cAMP signaling is important to a number of processes, including cell proliferaton and differentiation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.,PRKACB,PKA C-beta,PKACB,PKAC-beta,Cancer,Signal Transduction,G protein signaling,G2/M DNA Damage Checkpoint,Kinase,MAPK-Erk Signaling Pathway,Cell Biology & Developmental Biology,Apoptosis,Mitochondrial Control of Apoptosis,Inhibition of Apoptosis,Cell Cycle,Centrosome,Cytoskeleton,Actins,Endocrine & Metabolism,Lipid Metabolism,AMPK Signaling Pathway,Insulin Receptor Signaling Pathway,Immunology & Inflammation,NF-kB Signaling Pathway,Neuroscience,Neurodegenerative Diseases,Dopamine Signaling in Parkinson's Disease,PRKACB
