The mouse monoclonal antibody TPX2-01 recognizes the epitope EPFVPKKEKKS (aa 636-646 in human) of TPX2, a microtubule-associated intracellular critical regulator of mitosis, which is overexpressed in many types of tumors and is a marker of worse prognosis in various cancers.
TPX2 microtubule nucleation factor,TPX2 is a microtubule-associated protein, which is a critical regulator of mitosis. At the beginning of mitosis, TPX2 is released and plays a significant role in mitotic spindle formation and subsequent proper segregation of chromosomes during cell division. After completion of mitosis the TPX2 protein disappears, but has also role in DNA damage response. Its overexpression has been demonstrated in many types of carcinomas. TPX2 belongs to the markers of worse tumor prognosis. On the other hand, down-regulation of TPX2 can inhibit cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion.,DIL2, HCTP4, REPP86
