Application
- Western Blotting (WB), ELISA, Immunoprecipitation (IP)
- Cross-Reactivity (Details)
- Cross reactivity against Aldehyde Dehydrogenase from other sources is unknown.
- Purification
- Aldehyde dehydrogenase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Aldehyde Dehydrogenase [Yeast].

- Application Notes
-
Application Note: Anti-Aldehyde dehydrogenase has been assayed against 1.0 μg of Aldehyde Dehydrogenase [Yeast] in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A working dilution of 1:10,000 to 1:50,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product.

Synonyms: Aldehyde dehydrogenase [NAD(P)+] 1 ALD2, ALD5
Background: Aldehyde dehydrogenase are a group of enzymes that catalyse the oxidation (dehydrogenation) of aldehydes. Aldehyde dehydrogenase is a polymorphic enzyme responsible for the oxidation of aldehydes to carboxylic acids, which leave the liver and are metabolized by the body's muscle and heart. ALDH2 also plays a crucial role in maintaining low blood levels of acetaldehyde during alcohol oxidation.
