- Background
- MRF2 (Modulator Recognition Factor-2) is a member of the ARID (AT-Rich Interaction Domain) family of transcription factors. The ARID defines a highly conserved sequence specific DNA binding domain and has been identified in proteins of yeast, Drosophila, and mammals. MRF2 is essential for accumulation of lipid stores in postnatal life. MRF2 is highly expressed in the aorta, heart, lung, small intestine, kidney, muscle, and brain.
