ALMS1
Reactivity: Human
IF, ICC
Host: Rabbit
Polyclonal
unconjugated
Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: Limit dilution 1: 32000. Western blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 200 kDa and 70 kDa in lysatesof Human T cell line Jurkat after 0.3 μg/mL antibody staining. Please note that currently wecannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculatedsize of 460 kDa according to NP_055935.3. Both detected bands were successfully blockedby incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizingpeptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands). Wewould appreciate any feedback from people in the field - have any results been reportedwith other antibodies/lysates? Have any further splice variants/modified forms beenreported?Immunohistochemistry: 1-3 μg/mL. In paraffin embedded Human Testis shows staining ofcytoplasm in spermatocytes. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

ALMS1 contains a large tandem-repeat domain that contains no cysteine residues. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Alstrom syndrome. The encoded protein may play a role in hearing, sight, obesity, and liver function. Alternative splice variants have been described but their full length sequences have not been determined.Synonyms: Alstrom syndrome protein 1, KIAA0328
