Specificity
This antibody is expected to recognize all reported isoforms (NP_001005743.1, 001005744.1, NP_003735, NP_001005745.1). It is also likely to cross-react with Numblike (NUMBL, GeneID: 9253) which has a very similar C-Terminus, although this has not yet been tested experimentally.
Cross-Reactivity (Details)
Species reactivity (expected):Canine (Dog) and Bovine. Species reactivity (tested):Human, Mouse.
Purification
Ammonium Sulphate Precipitation followed by Antigen Affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide

Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: Limit dilution 1: 32000. Western blot: 0.03-0.1 μg/mL. Approx 80 kDa band observed in Mouse Brain lysates(calculated MW of 70.0 kDa according to NP_001005743.1). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Protein NUMB homolog is an evolutionarily conserved protein that controls the differentiation of neuronal progenitor cells. Recent studies have revealed that NUMB functions in clathrin-dependent endocytosis by binding to the AP-2 complex. NUMB is also expressed in postmitotic neurons and plays a role in axonal growth. Neural cells expressing Numb isoforms with short phosphotyrosine-binding (SPTB) domain undergo extensive neurite outgrowth, an effect that can be blocked by voltage-gated Ca2+ channel (VGCC) inhibitor or by Ca2+ chelatorSynonyms: Protein S171, Protein numb homolog, h-Numb
