- Background
- Prokineticins belong to a family of highly conserved small peptides discovered a decade ago in frog skin and snake venon. The mammalian orthologs consist in two prokineticins peptides: prokineticin 1 (PK1) and prokineticin 2 (PK2), signaling through two receptors: prokineticin receptor 1 (PK-R1) and prokineticin receptor 2 (PK-R2).
