ELISA. Western blot (1/2,000-1/3,000). Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections (10 μg/mL). This antibody was validated foruse in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE)human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubationwith the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

(Vesicle-Associated Membrane Protein 2 (Synaptobrevin 2) (VAMP2))
Synaptobrevin 2 (Syb2) also known as vesicle associated membrane protein-2 (VAMP2) is a membrane protein that belongs to the v-SNARE family of proteins, and is an essential component in neurotransmitter exocytosis from the presynaptic membrane. It is expressed on the synaptic vesicle, where it is bound by synaptophysin. Synaptophysin targets the vesicle to the presynaptic membrane and releases Syb2, which forms a stable complex with syntaxin and SNAP-25 (both expressed on the target membrane). Nerve cell depolarization and influx of calcium leads to vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release into the synapse.Synonyms: SYB2, VAMP2, Vesicle-associated membrane protein 2
