Western Blotting (WB), ELISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections) (IHC (p)), Gel Shift (GS)
Cross-Reactivity
Human, Mouse, Rat
Characteristics
Myogenin, Myogenic factor 4, Myf-4,Myogenin is a member of a family of myogenic regulatory genes, which includes MyoD, myf5 and MRF4. These genes encode a set of transcription factors, which are essential for muscle development. Expression of myogenin is restricted to cells of skeletal muscle origin. It is therefore a useful marker for tumors of the muscle lineage, being strongly expressed in alveolar rhabdomyosarcomas.

Application Notes
This antibody can be used for ELISA, gel supershift assays, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation of protein-DNA complexes (2 μg/mg), Western blotting (1 μg/mL) and is the antibody of choise for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections (1-2 μg/mL). Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions.
