Nkx2-3 is a transcriptional regulator essential for normal development and functions of the small intestine and spleen.Nkx2-3 activates directly MADCAM1 expression.Nkx2-3 is required for homing of lymphocytes in spleen and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue. Nkx2-3 may have a role during pharyngeal organogenesis.
