This affinity-purified antibody is directed against Human MAGP-2 protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross reactivity with MAGP-2 protein from Human and chimpanzee based on 100 % homology with the immunizing sequence. Expect partial reactivity with MAGP-2 from Mouse, Dog and Rat sources based on partial (~75 %) sequence homology. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Application Notes
This affinity-purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA (1/5,000-1/20,000) andWestern blot (1/250-1/1,000). Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by theend user. Expect a band approximately 20-30 kDa in size corresponding to MAGP-2 proteinby Western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Target
MFAP5
(Microfibrillar Associated Protein 5 (MFAP5))
MAGP-2 is a secreted, extracellular matrix protein which is a component of the elastin-associated microfibrils. It forms intermolecular disulfide bonds either with other MAGP-2 Molecules or with other components of the microfibrils. MAGP-2 is upregulated in some ovarian cancers and is associated with poor survival of ovarian cancer patients.Synonyms: MAGP2, MFAP-5, MP25, Microfibril-associated glycoprotein 2, Microfibrillar-associated protein 5
