Background: MYCBP2 belongs to the highwire family. It is a probable E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. MYCBP2 may function as a facilitator or regulator of transcriptional activation by MYC and have a role during synaptogenesis. There are two different isoforms.
