Background
CTRP6 belongs to a highly conserved family of adiponectin paralogs. CTRP6 mediates activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in skeletal muscle cells, thereby regulating glucose and lipid metabolism. Mediates the phosphorylation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC).
