ELISA (1/20-1/200): In a simple ELISA with 0.5 g Streptokinase coated per well, the 50 % OD was observed at an antibody dilution of 1/2500. Under the same conditions the endpoint was observed at 1/50K. Assay developed using Goat x Rabbit IgG-HRP conjugate andABTS. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Streptokinase is a metallo-enzyme produced by various strains of Streptococcus that can liquify blood clots by converting plasminogen to plasmin. It is 415 amino acids in length with a MW of approximately 47 kDa. Streptokinase is not a protease but it activates plasminogen by complexing with it. It is thought to prevent the formation of effective fibrin barriers around the site of infection, thereby contributing to the invasiveness of the cells.Synonyms: skc
