Application Notes
Western blot: 0.5-1.5 μg/mL. In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing TANK2 a band of approx.127 kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The calculated molecular size is127 kDa according to NP_079511.1. Full caption (see picture below): HEK293 overexpressing TANK2 (lane 4) and TANK1 (lane 2)and probed with ABIN401534 (mock transfection in first lane). Lane three is empty. Lowerpanel shows the same lysates probed for alpha-Actin to show protein levels. Primaryincubation (0.5 μg/mL) was overnight at 4 °C. Detected by chemiluminescence.

Tankyrase 2 may regulate vesicle trafficking and modulate the subcellular distribution of SLC2A4/GLUT4-vesicles. It has PARP activity and can modify TRF1, and thereby contribute to the regulation of telomere length. Tankyrase 2 is highly expressed in placenta, skeletal muscle, liver, brain, kidney, heart, thymus, spinal cord, lung, peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas, lymph nodes, spleen, prostate, testis, ovary, small intestine, colon, mammary gland, breast and breast carcinoma, and in common-type meningioma. Also highly expressed in fetal liver, heart and brain. Tankyrase 2 shares approximately 83 % sequence identity with Tankyrase 1.Synonyms: PARP5B, TNKL, TNKS-2, TNKS2, TRF1-interacting ankyrin-related ADP-ribose polymerase 2, Tankyrase II, Tankyrase-like protein, Tankyrase-related protein
