Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: Limit dilution 1: 4000. Western blot: 0.1 - 1.0 μg/mL. Experiments gave bands at approx 30 kDa and 30 kDa inhuman acute lymphoblastic leukaemia MOLT4 lysate after 0.3 μg/mL antibody staining. These bands correspond to the reported isoforms with calculated MW of 32.0 kDaaccording to NP_647478.1 and 30.0 kDa according to NP_071444.1. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Livin is a novel member of the IAP protein family and contains a single baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domain and a RING finger domain and has two isoforms termed Livin alpha and Livin beta. The BIR domain is essential for inhibitory activity and interacts with caspases, while the RING finger domain sometimes enhances antiapoptotic activity but does not inhibit apoptosis alone. The two isoforms of Livin appear to have different functions and tissue distributions.Synonyms: Baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 7, KIAP, Kidney inhibitor of apoptosis protein, Livin, MLIAP, Melanoma inhibitor of apoptosis protein, RING finger protein 50, RNF50
