Application
- Western Blotting (WB)
- Specificity
- Recognizes human caspase-3. In apoptotic cells, this antibody also detects 20kD and 18kD proteins which correspond to the processed forms of caspase-3. Following the induction of apoptosis and the appearance of these smaller bands, a concurrent reduction in the amount of the procaspase enzyme is noted on immunoblot analysis. A weak ~30kD band may be detected in some samples. This band is not caspase-3 as it is detected in MCF7 cell lysates which lack the caspase-3 protein. Species cross-reactivity: mouse, rat, bovine, canine, chicken, guinea pig, hamster, monkey, porcine, rabbit and yeast.
